Water Tanks
The total capacity of the cylindrical tanks depends on their diameter (which may vary between 3m and 30m) and their height (See Table of Sizes and Capacities).
In order to obtain other capacities, the warehouses may be alined and connected with each others.
The tanks are made of galvanized iron sheets (2,5m Height and 1,25 width) that overlap one with each other. The sheets, whose thickness depends on the diameter and the height of the warehouse, are made in compliance with the European norms BS 729 1971.
The iron panels are pierced in their whole circumference to avoid unnecessary mechanization.
The sheets are bolted together with specific screws and materials to ensure perfect watertightness.
The inner surface (made with putty) is coated with a bituminous black painting that protects the sheet from being in direct contact with the water. It also darkens the inside to prevent the apparition of microorganisms. In case of potable water or waters with high corrosion levels, the interior side is covered with a plastic covering of polyurethane that has high resistance to abrasion.
TThe contours and the sheets ranging from 2mm to 3mm undergo a galvanization treatment that exceeds 275 grs of zinc per m2, in compliance with the norm 10142. The other pieces: sheets ranging over 3mm, screws, ladders, bridles... are hot-dip galvanized, in compliance with the norms.
See our Sizes and Capacities Table.
